General contractor marketing that makes you the name on the job

If you still get most of your work through someone else's company, that company owns the customer and the biggest part of the ticket. We build the machine that lets you sell direct: brand, website, local SEO, ads and a CRM that answers every lead and follows up every estimate. Everything runs in your accounts, with no lock-in contract.

How homeowners actually hire a general contractor

A homeowner who needs a kitchen, a bathroom, an addition or a full renovation is not buying a trade. They are buying one person who will answer the phone, show up, run the crew and finish on the date that was promised. The ticket is high, and the job happens inside the house where they sleep, so the fear is not the price. The fear is getting a contractor who disappears halfway, leaves a mess and stops answering texts.

That is why the decision is slow. The homeowner collects two or three bids, reads Google ratings at night, looks at photos of past jobs and talks it over at home. Weeks can pass between the first call and the signed contract. The general contractor who stays present during those weeks, with clear answers and a professional follow-up, is usually the one who gets the job, even when the price is not the lowest.

There is also a second buyer most GCs forget: the homeowner who does not know yet that they need a general contractor. They search for a bathroom remodel or a kitchen update and pick whoever looks organized. Good general contractor marketing talks to both. It shows up when someone searches for the service, and it builds enough trust that the person calls you instead of trying to manage five subs on their own.

Why referrals and subcontracting alone stall a contractor

Many owners we talk to are excellent builders who live on work passed down by a general contractor or two. It feels safe while the phone rings. But the GC holds the customer relationship, sets the price, keeps the margin and decides when you work. If that GC slows down, changes crews or has a bad season, your schedule empties overnight and you have no list of your own to call.

Referrals from past customers are great, but they are slow and random. A family that remodeled a kitchen will not need another one for years. And even a warm referral goes to Google before calling. If your company has no website, few ratings and no recent photos, the referral quietly calls the contractor who looks more established. Whoever holds the customer's number keeps the biggest part of the ticket, and right now that may not be you.

General contractor marketing offers that bring the right calls

An ad that just says we do remodeling gets scrolled past. The offer is what makes a homeowner stop and fill the form. We map your real services, your real prices and the jobs you actually want more of, and we only advertise what you can deliver at that price. These are the offer types we build for general contractors.

Starting-at price by project typeBathroom, kitchen, flooring or addition with the lowest real price you charge. The number filters out people who could never pay for the job, and it tells serious buyers you are organized.
A smaller job as the entry doorA vanity swap, a shower update or a repair list gets you inside the house. Once the homeowner sees how you work, the bigger project becomes an easy conversation.
Fast quote from photosThe homeowner sends photos and measurements, and gets a first range before anyone drives out. It respects their time and filters the leads that were only curious.
One contract, one point of contactMany homeowners are tired of chasing the plumber, the tile guy and the painter separately. An offer that promises one schedule and one person to call speaks directly to that pain.
Spin & Win discount on the jobOur discount wheel format already runs for painting clients. For a GC, the discount applies to the value of the project, never to the estimate, so the lead who spins already wants the work.
Seasonal project pushOutdoor projects before the heat or the snow, interior projects before the holidays. We time the offer to the moment homeowners are already thinking about the house.

How we build the general contractor marketing machine

We do not sell a single piece and hope it works. A general contractor needs the brand, the site, the ads and the follow-up talking to each other, or the lead gets lost between them. This is the order we build it in, and all of it is ready in the first week, with texting waiting only on the A2P registration.

01Brand and market studyWe look at the contractors competing in your area, what they offer and how they present themselves. Then we set a brand that looks like a real GC, not a side business.
02Website with service and city pagesOne page for each type of project, service area pages for each city you cover, FAQs answered on the page and a form that asks the right questions.
03CRM, phone number and A2P registrationYour CRM with a verified business number, recorded calls and texting approved by the A2P registration. The registration is the reason we say 7 days: our part is ready sooner.
04Offers and creativesOffer creatives with a starting-at price, and videos from your real jobs. You record on your phone, we edit, add narration and post it organic and as ads.
05Form campaigns by zip code incomeMeta form campaigns aimed only at the zip codes with the income for your projects. For remodeling, that means zip codes with $100k+ household income.
06Follow-up and daily readingEvery lead gets a reply in seconds and 8 follow-ups by SMS and email. We read what turns into estimates and signed jobs, and move the budget based on that.

Meta ads vs Google ads for general contractors

Google is where people search, so most contractors assume it is the place to start. The problem is the budget. On Google you compete in a long list against every remodeler and handyman bidding on the same words. Under $500 a week, Google brings very little volume, and their own support will tell you that. So for most general contractors starting to sell direct, we start with Meta.

On Facebook and Instagram you pay to appear in front of the homeowner, and you choose which homeowner. We do not draw a big circle around your address. We research the income of the zip codes around you and aim only at the ones that can afford a remodel. A kitchen photo from your own job, a clear starting-at price and a short form do more for a GC than a hundred clicks from people renting an apartment.

Meta also needs patience. The account needs about 90 days of data before it is truly optimized, and we tell you that on day one. When your budget grows and the Meta machine is steady, Google Ads becomes a good second channel for people already searching for a general contractor near them. Until then, your Google presence is built organically, with the site, the city pages and your Google Business Profile.

General contractor website and local SEO built for how people search

Homeowners rarely type general contractor into Google. They type kitchen remodel in Sarasota, bathroom renovation Lakewood Ranch, home addition contractor Framingham or basement finishing Worcester. That is why a one-page site does not work for a GC. We build one page for each project type and service area pages for each city you cover, with the distance from your base and the questions people really ask answered on the page.

The site is long on purpose. More useful text means more keywords, and more keywords means more chances to show up without paying for the click. A blog keeps adding new searches over time. On the Google Business Profile, we post every day with photos from your jobs and ask for a review the right way, with 5 NFC review cards your customer taps with their phone to open your Google review screen. We never buy or fake a review.

Answering leads and quoting projects without losing the week

A general contractor's week gets eaten by estimates. You drive across town, measure, go home, build the quote at night, send it, and then nobody answers. We cut that down. When a lead comes in, your CRM replies in seconds and asks for what matters: address, type of project, rough size, timeline and photos. A lot of projects can get a first range from photos and measurements, so you only drive out for the homeowners who are serious.

After the estimate goes out, the follow-up does not depend on your memory. Every lead gets 8 follow-ups by SMS and email until they reply or ask to stop. Every call is recorded inside your account, which matters a lot in construction, because what was agreed about scope, materials and dates is exactly what gets argued about later. On our top plan, a dedicated sales rep who serves at most 2 clients answers your leads, qualifies them and sends the estimate from your CRM. You go to the house to measure and to build.

Typical general contractor marketing agency vs Escalar+

Many contractors we talk to already paid an agency or a lead site and came out with nothing to show for it. Some had the card charged every month while the last post on their Instagram was months old. Here is where we work differently.

Typical agency or lead site
Escalar+
✕Sells shared leads that other contractors also receive
Leads come from your own ads into your own CRM, only for you
✕Draws a big radius around your address and targets everyone
Picks zip codes on purpose, by household income
✕Reports clicks, impressions and cost per lead
Reads booked estimates and jobs signed to decide the budget
✕Keeps the site, the pages and the ad account in its own name
Everything is built in your accounts and stays with you if you leave
✕Hands you leads and leaves the follow-up to you
Replies in seconds and sends 8 follow-ups by SMS and email per lead
✕Locks you into a long contract
No lock-in contract. If it is not working, you leave

What changes when you market as the general contractor

Selling direct is not only about ads. It changes how your company looks, how it answers and how it keeps records. These are the pieces we put in place so the homeowner sees a general contractor from the first click to the signed contract.

Your company name on the caller IDA verified business number shows your company name when you call, so the homeowner picks up instead of ignoring an unknown number.
Your own customer listEvery lead, text, email and call saved in your CRM. The list grows with you and does not belong to anyone else.
Photos of your jobs in every channelBefore and after from your real projects on the site, on Google and in the ads. Real work builds more trust than any stock photo.
Ratings that go to your nameWhen you work as a sub, the happy homeowner rates the GC. Now the review lands on your Google profile, with the NFC card in your hand at the end of the job.
A pipeline you can readEvery open estimate in one place, with its stage. When we review a pipeline by hand, we usually find proposals nobody called back.
Recorded calls as your protectionWhen a customer remembers the scope differently, the recording shows what was agreed. It protects your name and your payment.

What we have already run, and what we will not claim

We will be straight with you: we do not have a public general contractor case on this site yet. What we have is 6 years in the U.S. market and 15+ businesses launched across 13 trades, most of them high-ticket home services in Florida and Massachusetts. The pieces a general contractor needs are already running for our clients: form campaigns by zip code income, recorded calls, follow-up sequences, city pages and daily Google posts.

The pieces are the same across trades. For painting and remodeling companies in Sarasota we rebuild sites with blocking quality checks, produce ad creatives and schedule posts on the Google profile. For a flooring company in The Villages area we built installed-price offers, city pages and form campaigns by zip code income, aimed at homeowners who own the house and pay for the job. Those are different trades, and we show them only because the machine is the same one a GC would use. What we will never do is promise you a number of projects per month. Nobody honest can, and if someone does, walk away.

Our commitment is to execution. Every campaign built with excellence, everything in your accounts, no lock-in contract, and you leave if it is not working. For a contractor who has been burned before, that tends to matter more than any promise on a sales page.

Do you sell leads to general contractors?

No. We build the ads, site and CRM in your own accounts, so every lead that comes in is yours alone. Nobody else receives the same homeowner.

I work mostly as a sub today. Can I start marketing as a general contractor?

Yes, and that is exactly the move this page is about. We build the brand, site, CRM and ads so homeowners call you directly. You can keep your current GC work while your own pipeline grows.

How fast can my general contractor marketing be live?

Live in 7 days. Our part is ready sooner. The wait is the A2P registration that the carriers require before your business can send text messages.

Should a general contractor start with Google ads or Meta ads?

Under $500 a week, Google brings little volume, so we usually start with Meta form campaigns aimed at zip codes with the income for your projects. Google Ads comes in as the budget grows.

Do you promise a number of projects or contracts?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. What we commit to is execution: every campaign built with excellence, everything in your account, no lock-in contract, and you leave if it is not working.

Can you quote remodeling projects without going to the house?

Many times, yes, at least a first range. The CRM asks for photos, measurements and project details, and the estimate goes out from that. You drive out to measure for real and to build.

Which cities can you target for my general contractor business?

Any area you actually serve. We build city pages and choose zip codes by income, whether you work around Sarasota and Bradenton, Fort Myers, Boynton Beach, Worcester and Framingham, or Dawsonville, GA.

How much does general contractor marketing with Escalar+ cost?

Our plans and what each one includes are on the pricing page. Ad spend is always separate and goes straight from your card to the platform, so you see exactly what was spent.
